Renewable Energy Jobs in Argentina
RenovAr and MATER Program Forecasts
Argentina is making progress in developing renewable energies, taking advantage of its wealth of natural resources and a state energy policy. The development of the electricity market in different parts of the country, with a growing increase in the participation of renewable energy sources in the energy mix, contributes to the development of regional economies and the generation of employment associated with the sector.
The projects that were to be developed in Argentina during the last few years (RenovAr and MATER Program) were to allow the following employment generation.
In 2018, the RenovAr and MATER program was to contribute to employment generation with more than 5,000 new jobs, and it was estimated that it would reach 17,500 in two to three years.
The distribution of jobs by energy source was intended to look like this: wind energy – 44.8%, solar energy – 34.3%, biomass, biogas, and landfill biogas – 17.8%, and small hydroelectric plants – 2.9%.
